Week 3 of the NFL season is in the books, and as we saw in Week Two, fantasy owners were dealt with a number of injuries to monitor in the coming weeks. Let’s get right to it:
TE Kyle Rudolph left the Vikings’ game at New Orleans this weekend early and we learned Monday that he would undergo sports hernia surgery and will be out “about” six weeks. It’s a another tough blow for the Vikings and fantasy owners alike who were expecting a breakout season in Norv Turner’s TE-friendly offense. Rhett Ellison and MarQueis Gray will fill in for him while he is out.
TE Dennis Pitta suffered yet another right hip dislocation which will sideline him for the season. Expected to be a big part of the offense this season under Gary Kubiak, Pitta was also off to a slow start to 2014 and this will essentially be his second consecutive lost season after suffering the same injury in training camp last year.
