THIS UPDATE:  5/15/2013

May Ranking Notes:

The June update will bring a complete re-wash of these rankings including slotting in rookies appropriately as well as a massive expansion of how many WR we rank.  There are a lot of dynamics going on right now so we're focused on a two year 'skill' approach to the WR rankings.  We'll be moving to a little heavier weighting for CURRENT year + some consideration for next year + opportunity as a calculation.  Excited to bring you the June update with it's new look and evaluation technique.

Anyone remember the last time an offense supported THREE top 15 WR?  Could Peyton Manning's trio pull it off in 2013?

Do any of these rookie WR look as good to you as AJ Green or Julio Jones?  Just doesn't seem to be the same talent level.

For purposes of these rankings, we'll attempt to bring you KEEPER value on players.  To do so, we're estimating value over the next TWO seasons - so you may see younger receivers or receivers with extended contracts slightly favored.

Decker at 8th overall? I don't see it with Welker there. Cruz isn't even signed yet so I'm not sure he is at 6th. 17 seems awfully low for Andre Johnson coming off one of the best seasons of his career. Now with a legitimate weapon opposite of him in DeAndre Hopkins to take away some of the double teams, Johnson is solidly in my top 10.

Totally agree with you - this will be expanded dramatically soon. Right now it's just getting systems straight in the offseason. I don't have a final number yet, but this will definitely grow past 50. Stay tuned - we're testing our rankings and working on initial projections so we can populate the rankings effectively.

I'd venture to say even the most casual fan can put together a list of top 20 receivers. What is the value of this list? Shouldn't it be AT LEAST 50? and average league people carry 4-5 receivers if the roster would allow and 10-14 teams, no?
