As I write this, Hurricane Sandy is swirling around my apartment here in Philadelphia, not to mention most of the rest of the Northeast. Stay safe, neighbors.
This is a light week for pickups – not too much in the way of guys emerging or key injuries. You don't need to go nuts for any of these guys, in my opinion.

If you’ve read my previous articles about Individual Defensive Player leagues (IDP), then you know that I think these leagues are much more fun than standard leagues, where you’re only worrying about offensive players, kickers, and team defenses. That being said, probably 90% of the leagues out there don’t include IDPs in their leagues, but for those 10% that participate in them, this is the weekly column for you!

I watched the presidential debate rather than much of the first half of the Monday Night Football game (and, consequently, instead of ranting here about football) because I'm a true patriot. Can Jon Gruden say the same? I think not.

Love Him or List Him: Jonathan Dwyer
Just to be clear, Love Him doesn’t mean refuse a trade that will blow your doors off. No player is untradeable if the price is right. And List Him doesn’t mean trade him for a sack of dirty jock straps. Try and trade him for what his current value is worth.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
When giving advice on who to play I prefer not to say ‘Start player x’ or ‘Sit player y’ because I don’t know who everyone has on their bench. Telling you to sit a borderline QB when all the options available to you in your league are worse doesn’t do you much good. So instead I’ll make references to the classic spaghetti western. Assume the players who aren’t mentioned here should produce within their usual point range.
