The Week 8 Injury Cavalcade
Alas, injuries are an unfortunate part of football, and they do tend to have an impact on our pretend game. Here are some notable injury updates, and how they may affect your decision making process this week.
Sam Bradford (STL): IR
Bradford suffered a torn ACL in his left knee on Sunday and is done for the season.
Jay Cutler (CHI): Out
Cutler tore a groin muscle in that shootout against the Redskins, and will probably miss at least a month, perhaps longer.
Nick Foles (PHI): Questionable
Foles was concussed against the Cowboys, and it is not looking good for this week.
Josh Freeman (MIN): Questionable
Freeman has been concussed, and will likely have to miss the Packer game on Sunday night. Please look elsewhere, as this offense is a train wreck.
Peyton Manning (DEN): Questionable
Peyton is listed as questionable with a minor ankle injury, but is expected to practice later in the week and will play on Sunday.
Ryan Tannehill (MIA): Questionable
Tannehill has been limited this week with a vague shoulder issue, but is expected to be out there on Sunday.
Michael Vick (PHI): Probable
Vick injured his hamstring in New York two weeks ago, but has practiced in full this week. His status is still somewhat murky, but it is beginning to look like he will be back on Sunday.
Frank Gore (SF): Questionable
Gore missed practice Wednesday with an ankle injury, but will likely play on Sunday in London.
Fred Jackson (BUF): Questionable
Freddie messed his knee up a bit against the Dolphins, and has sat some in practice this week, but is expected to play on Sunday.
Steven Jackson (ATL): Questionable
Jackson still has the lingering hamstring injury, but it appears he may play this week. Stay tuned.
Brandon Jacobs (NYG): Out
Jacobs is still nursing a hamstring injury, and will likely miss another game on Sunday.
Doug Martin (TB): Out
Martin injured his shoulder against the Falcons and is out indefinitely.
Rashard Mendenhall (ARI): Questionable
Rashard has a toe ailment, and his status is up in the air at this time. Whatever the case, it would be wise to stay away from this situation.
DeMarco Murray (DAL): Questionable
Murray injured his knee against the Redskins two weeks ago, and missed the Eagles game this past Sunday. He has returned to practice in a limited capacity, and could be a game time decision. Oh joy.
Adrian Peterson (MIN): Questionable
Adrian missed practice Wednesday because of a hamstring issue, and is questionable at this time. Peterson should play on Sunday night, but check on his status later in the week just in case.
Jason Snelling (ATL): Questionable
Snelling missed practice Wednesday with an ankle injury, and is status is uncertain at the moment.
C.J. Spiller (BUF): Questionable
Spiller is still dealing with the lingering ankle injury, and his status for Sunday is very much in doubt at this time.
James Starks (GB): Probable
Starks has the knee thing, but has practiced this week, and could play on Sunday night.
Danny Amendola (NE): Questionable
Danny was concussed against the Saints two weeks ago and missed the Jets game this past week. He did return to practice this week, but his status for Sunday is unclear at the moment.
Miles Austin (DAL): Questionable
Austin is still dealing with a lingering hamstring issue, and could possibly sit on Sunday.
Justin Blackmon (JAX): Questionable
Blackmon is still dealing with a groin/hamstring dilemma, and missed practice Wednesday. However, he should play on Sunday in London.
Dez Bryant (DAL): Questionable
Dez has been limited this week with a variety of aliments, but it would be hard to imagine that he would not play this Sunday.
Eric Decker (DEN): Questionable
Decker missed practice Wednesday with a toe thing, but had a huge game on Sunday night, and should be fine going forward.
Julian Edelman (NE): Questionable
Julian has been limited again this week with a thigh injury, but should play on Sunday.
Larry Fitzgerald (ARI): Probable
Fitz is still somewhat limited with the hamstring, but will be out there again on Sunday.
Brandon Gibson (MIA): Questionable
Gibson has been limited this week with a shoulder injury, but should suit up on Sunday.
Santonio Holmes (NYJ): Questionable
Holmes is still dealing with the hamstring issue, and will probably miss another game this week.
Calvin Johnson (DET): Questionable
Calvin was dominant against the Bengals, but did miss practice Wednesday with the knee. He is still limited, but will very likely play again this week.
James Jones (GB): Questionable
Jones still has the knee thing, and missed practice Wednesday, but could still play on Sunday night if the knee improves later this week. Coin flip.
Lance Moore (NO): Probable
Lance has practiced in full this week, and appears to be over the hand injury. He should be good for Sunday.
Cecil Shorts (JAX): Questionable
Cecil gutted it out this past Sunday with the injured right shoulder. He will not practice much this week, but should play again on Sunday in London.
Golden Tate (SEA):
Golden has a shoulder issue, but should be okay for Monday night.
Reggie Wayne (IND): IR
Reggie severely damaged his knee on Sunday night, and will miss the rest of the year. Really tough break.
Wes Welker (DEN): Questionable
Welker missed practice Wednesday because of an ankle problem, but he should be good to go on Sunday.
Roddy White (ATL): Questionable
Roddy is still dealing with a left hamstring injury, and did not practice Wednesday. It could go either way for Sunday.
Mike Williams (TB): Questionable
Williams is still dealing with the hamstring injury, and has been limited again in practice this week. Coin toss for Thursday night.
Jeff Cumberland (NYJ): Questionable
Cumberland missed practice Wednesday with a hamstring issue, but should be good for Sunday.
Jermichael Finley (GB): Out
Finley injured his neck on a nasty hit against the Browns, and will be out for a while, possibly for the remainder of the season.
Jimmy Graham (NO): Questionable
Jimmy missed practice Wednesday with a foot injury, and his status for Sunday is unknown at this point. Stay tuned.
Rob Gronkowski (NE): Questionable
Gronk played quite well in his season debut on Sunday, but still has the back and forearm thing happening, and has been limited in practice. However, expect him to play going forward.
Greg Olsen (CAR): Probable
Olsen is still dealing with a nagging foot injury, but played this past Sunday, and should be fine for Thursday night.
Jordan Reed (WAS): Probable
Jordan injured his hip during the Bears game and did miss some time, but returned fairly quickly and put up huge numbers. He has practiced in full this week and should be good to go on Sunday.
Blair Walsh (MIN): Questionable
Walsh has been dealing with a hamstring issue for several weeks, and has been limited in practice this week, although it appears he will continue to kick through it.
