Alas, injuries are an unfortunate part of football, and they do tend to have an impact on our pretend game. Here are some notable injury updates, and how they may affect your decision making process this week.

Quarterbacks:

Christian Ponder (MIN): Questionable

Ponder injured a rib on Sunday in the home loss to Cleveland and will be limited this week. He may play, but Ponder should not be anywhere near a lineup.

Terrelle Pryor (OAK): Questionable

Terrelle is concussed, and did not practice Wednesday. We will know more later in the week.

Matt Schaub (HOU): Probable

Schaub has an ankle issue, but should play Sunday against Seattle, for good or ill.

Brandon Weeden (CLE): Questionable

Brandon is officially out again due to the lingering thumb injury. Brian Hoyer will get another start.

Running Backs:

Le’Veon Bell (PIT): Probable

The rookie has practiced in full this week, and should make his regular season debut Sunday in London.

Brandon Bolden (NE): Questionable

Bolden is limited again this week with the knee, but he looked good this past Sunday, and should be fine going forward.

Ahmad Bradshaw (IND): Questionable

Bradshaw was excellent against the Niners on Sunday, but did miss practice Wednesday with a neck problem. Stay tuned.

Reggie Bush (DET): Probable

Reggie missed last week with a knee ailment, but has not been limited this week and should return on Sunday. Of course, Reggie did say he was good to go last week, so we shall see.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis (CIN): Questionable

The Law Firm is dealing with an ankle injury, but should be okay for Sunday, although he has been losing more and more time to talented rookie Giovani Bernard.

Chris Ivory (NYJ): Questionable

Ivory has a hamstring issue, and will likely not suit up on Sunday.

Steven Jackson (ATL): Out

Jackson is still out with the thigh injury, and will likely miss a few more games.

Maurice Jones-Drew (JAX): Probable

MJD did what he could on Sunday in Seattle. He did sit out Wednesday with the ankle, but should play this week.

Rashard Mendenhall (ARI): Questionable

Mendenhall did play in New Orleans on Sunday, but did not do much. He has been limited with the toe, but should play again this week.

Lamar Miller (MIA): Probable

Lamar was reported with a shoulder issue, but has practiced this week, and should play on Monday night.

Ray Rice (BAL): Questionable

Rice missed Sunday with the hip injury, but has practiced some this week. Ray seems to think he will suit up in Buffalo, but it is far from a sure thing at this time.

Daryl Richardson (STL): Probable

Richardson exited on Sunday very early due to an aggravation of his foot injury. He should be good to go for this week, but we would rather not get burned again.

C.J. Spiller (BUF): Probable

Spiller left the Jet game with a leg injury, but has practiced in full and will likely play this week.

Wide Receivers:

Danny Amendola (NE): Doubtful

Amendola is still making his way back from the groin injury, and will likely miss Sunday night.

Miles Austin (DAL): Questionable

Austin missed practice Wednesday with a hamstring issue. He should be okay, but his status is a bit murky at the moment.

Kenny Britt (TEN): Questionable

The underachieving Britt currently has a rib fracture, and his status for this week is unclear. At this point, it may be best to stay away.

Nate Burleson (DET): Out

Nate underwent surgery to repair two broken bones in his left arm sustained in an auto mishap. He could be back in as early as a month.

Larry Fitzgerald (ARI): Probable

Fitz is still nursing a hamstring injury, but has practiced more this week and will definitely play on Sunday.

Malcom Floyd (SD): Doubtful

Floyd is still out with the neck injury and is not looking good for this Sunday.

Chris Givens (STL): Probable

Givens has a knee thing happening, but has practiced this week and will play Thursday night.

Leonard Hankerson (WAS): Probable

Leonard and his hamstring should be good to go this week.

Santonio Holmes (NYJ): Probable

Holmes was quite productive against Buffalo, and although still somewhat limited with the foot, will play again on Sunday.

Vincent Jackson (TB): Questionable

Vincent injured a rib in New England and did not practice Wednesday, but he should play on Sunday.

Andre Johnson (HOU): Questionable

Andre left Sunday in Baltimore with a shin injury. He is limited at the moment, and his status for this week is tricky. Check back in a few days.

Calvin Johnson (DET): Questionable

Calvin has missed some time this week with a knee ailment, but should be good for Sunday.

Steve Johnson (BUF): Questionable

Johnson injured his hamstring in New York, but is looking good at this point for Sunday.

Julio Jones (ATL): Questionable

Julio is a beast, but is being held back in practice with the knee. Not to worry; he will continue to produce at a high level.

Roddy White (ATL): Questionable

Roddy is playing through his high ankle sprain, but it is clearly impacting his numbers. He will probably not practice much this week, but should play again on Sunday.

Mike Williams (TB): Questionable

Williams injured his leg in New England, and missed practice Wednesday. His status is unclear at the moment.

Tight Ends:

Fred Davis (WAS): Questionable

Fred was inactive Sunday due to an ankle thing, and has been limited this week. Coin flip.

Vernon Davis (SF): Questionable

Davis is dealing with a hamstring injury, but has practiced some this week. Could be game-time call for Thursday night.

Rob Gronkowski (NE): Questionable

Gronk still has the back and forearm thing happening, but is getting closer to a return. However, it will probably not be this week.

Marcedes Lewis (JAX): Questionable

Lewis is still dealing with a calf injury, but has practiced some this week. He could possibly make his season debut on Sunday.

Heath Miller (PIT): Probable

Miller played Sunday on a limited basis coming back from the ACL injury. He will play again this week.

Jordan Reed (WAS): Questionable

Reed played well in place of Fred Davis on Sunday, but suffered a quad contusion. Status is unclear at the moment.

Luke Stocker (TB): IR

Stocker is now on injured reserve due to a hip injury and is finished for the year.

Delanie Walker (TEN): Questionable

Walker has an injured toe and missed practice Wednesday. He could play this week, but not a guarantee.

Kickers:

Billy Cundiff (CLE): Questionable

Billy missed practice Wednesday because of a quad injury. We will know more later in the week.

Kai Forbath (WAS): Questionable

Kai is still dealing with the groin injury, but has improved some. However, his status for Sunday is a coin flip at the moment.

Dustin Hopkins (BUF): Questionable

Hopkins also has a groin injury, and did not practice Wednesday. It appears that Dan Carpenter will continue to kick in his stead, at least for one more week.

Well, that is all for now. Until next time, denizens of Fantasyland. Remember, fortune favors the bold.
