The Week 9 Injury Cavalcade

 

Alas, injuries are an unfortunate part of football, and they do tend to have an impact on our pretend game. Here are some notable injury updates, and how they may affect your decision making process this week.

 

Quarterbacks:

 

Tom Brady (NE): Probable

Brady (right shoulder) has practiced in full this week and should be good to go on Sunday.

 

Kellen Clemens (STL): Questionable

Clemens (right shoulder) has been limited in practice, but it appears he will start again on Sunday. I trust you have a better option.

 

Nick Foles (PHI): Probable

Foles (concussion) is back and will start for the injured Michael Vick in Oakland.

 

Josh Freeman (MIN): Questionable

Freeman (concussion) has returned to practice, but the starter for Sunday will not be determined until later this week. Stay far away from this mess.

 

Robert Griffin III (WAS): Probable

RGIII (knee) is a little banged up, but did practice in full Wednesday and should be fine going forward.

 

Thad Lewis (BUF): Questionable

Lewis (rib contusion) took a vicious beating against the Saints. He did not practice Wednesday, and is a coin toss for Sunday.

 

EJ Manuel (BUF): Doubtful

EJ (knee) did practice in a limited capacity Wednesday, but is not expected to play on Sunday.

 

Michael Vick (PHI): Out

Vick (hamstring) reinjured the hammy against the Giants and may be out for at least a few weeks.

Running Backs:

 

Jamaal Charles (KC): Questionable

Jamaal (knee) sat out of practice Wednesday, but should be good to go this week.

 

Arian Foster (HOU): Questionable

Foster (hamstring) was injured in week 7, but should practice some this week. It appears we may be looking at the dreaded game time decision for this Sunday night against the Colts.

 

Fred Jackson (BUF): Questionable

Freddie (knee) missed practice Wednesday, but has been playing through it, and should be good to go again on Sunday against the Chiefs.

 

Marshawn Lynch (SEA): Questionable

Lynch (knee) did not practice Wednesday, and his status for Sunday against the winless Bucs is unknown at this time.

 

DeMarco Murray (DAL): Probable

Murray (knee) has practiced in full this week and is looking good for Sunday.

 

Daryl Richardson (STL): Questionable

Richardson (foot) did not practice Wednesday, and his injury is a bit mysterious at this time. Stay tuned.

 

C.J. Spiller (BUF): Questionable

Spiller (ankle) is still limited, and his status is unclear for this week.

 

Zac Stacy (STL): Questionable

Zac (ankle) was injured Monday night and has been limited in practice. His status is unknown at the moment.

 

Jonathan Stewart (CAR): Out

Stewart (ankles) may be ready to return this week, but a decision on his activation has yet to be made.

 

Ben Tate (HOU): Questionable

Tate (broken ribs) has been limited in practice, but may attempt to play on Sunday night.

 

DeAngelo Williams (CAR): Questionable

Williams (bruised quad) was held out of practice Wednesday, and his status is unclear at the moment.

Wide Receivers:

 

Danny Amendola (NE): Questionable

Danny (groin) practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, and is expected to play again on Sunday.

 

Miles Austin (DAL): Questionable

Austin (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday and could possibly sit again on Sunday.

 

Ryan Broyles (DET): Out

Broyles (achilles’ tendon) has been placed on injured reserve and will miss the rest of the season.

 

Marques Colston (NO): Questionable

Colston (knee) has been limited in practice this week, but should play in New York against the Jets.

 

Julian Edelman (NE): Questionable

Julian (thigh) was limited in practice Wednesday, but will likely play again on Sunday.

 

Pierre Garcon (WAS): Questionable

Pierre (calf) has been limited this week in practice, but is expected to play at home against the Chargers.

 

Brandon Gibson (MIA): Out

Gibson (knee) has been placed on injured reserve and will miss the remainder of the season.

 

Stephen Hill (NYJ): Questionable

Hill (foot) did not practice Wednesday, but insists he will suit up on Sunday.

 

Santonio Holmes (NYJ): Questionable

Holmes (hamstring) has been involved in practice this week, but will probably sit again on Sunday.

 

DeSean Jackson (PHI): Questionable

Jackson (ankle) was apparently injured in practice, but should be fine for Sunday.

 

Greg Jennings (MIN): Questionable

Jennings (knee) missed practice Wednesday, but should be good to go on Sunday.

 

Steve Johnson (BUF): Questionable

Stevie (groin) did not practice Wednesday, and his status is uncertain for Sunday.

 

James Jones (GB): Questionable

Jones (knee) is still limited, but could possibly be back this week.

 

Sidney Rice (SEA): Out

Rice (knee) tore his ACL Monday night in St. Louis and will miss the rest of the year.

 

Roddy White (ATL): Questionable

Roddy (ankle/hamstring) did not practice Wednesday and could miss yet another game on Sunday.

 

Mike Williams (TB): Out

Williams (hamstring) has been placed on injured reserve and will miss the rest of the season.

Tight Ends:

 

Jeff Cumberland (NYJ): Doubtful

Cumberland (mild concussion) was knocked out of the Bengals game, and is unlikely to play against the Saints this week.

 

Jimmy Graham (NO): Questionable

Jimmy (foot) played through the injury last week, and will continue to do so despite the limitations, although his snap count will likely be monitored closely.

 

Rob Gronkowski (NE): Questionable

Gronk (back/forearm/hamstring) has a variety of ailments, and has been limited in practice, but will probably continue to play through it.
